Add it to ChatGPT® as a custom Action
In ChatGPT settings, add a new Action and paste your DetachDev endpoint URL. ChatGPT will discover the available tools automatically via the MCP manifest.
Ask ChatGPT® to manage your sessions
Ask it to list sessions on your dev machine, resume one, send a prompt, or report back on what's running. ChatGPT relays everything through DetachDev to Claude Code® on your machine.

Can ChatGPT® control Claude Code® sessions?
Yes, via DetachDev. DetachDev exposes your Claude Code sessions through a standard MCP endpoint over HTTPS. ChatGPT connects to this endpoint using Actions, allowing it to list sessions, resume them, send prompts, and approve permission requests.
Does this require any special ChatGPT® plan?
ChatGPT® Actions are available on ChatGPT Plus and above. You add your DetachDev MCP endpoint as a custom Action in ChatGPT settings.
Why would I use ChatGPT® instead of Claude.ai® to control Claude Code?
DetachDev is AI-client agnostic by design. You might prefer ChatGPT for its interface, existing workflows, or because your team already uses it. With DetachDev, you're not locked into any single AI vendor — your sessions are reachable from whichever client you prefer.
